We Can Cut Crime! Swindon Lib Dems launch Crime Mini-Manifesto

Steve Pipe - Candidate for Central ward
Liberal Democrat vice Chairman and candidate for Central Ward, Steve Pipe, launched Swindon Liberal Democrats Crime Manifesto for the 2007 elections.
Steve, 27, introduced 5 key areas on which the Lib Dems would deliver. Steve, a solicitor, stated, "We want to see police on the beat, more work on cutting reoffending with proper victim compensation. "
Steve continued, "Action is also needed against pubs and clubs which generate anti social behaviour, this is vital for my constituents in the centre of town. Finally there should be proper sentencing by the courts."
Steve, quoting the Council's own figures, revealed, "In Swindon, Anti social behaviour has increased 79% in 2 years and violent crime has increased by 41% since 2002"
Steve adds, "In Swindon, the Liberal Democrats have a proven record of tackling crime in areas with Lib Dem Councillors".
