Councillor John Webb said: "This 52 vote majority gain from the Conservative party returns us Lib Dems as the largest party on the North Wilts District Council.
Cllr Webb continued: "Many thanks go to all of our supporters and helpers throughout this campaign, and in particular to the voters of Lyneham, Bradenstoke, Bushton, Clyffe Pypard and Tockenham for supporting me and the Liberal Democrats on such a wintry day."
